Felt Mallets - Wood
B-Sharp Percussion wooden mallets are part of the most traditional sound for timpani (combined with cork).
Within the mallets covered with felt, those of wood are the ones who answer to the needs of a more defined attack.
They are based on the Central European traditional music. This kind of mallets is the evolution of the most classical sound of the music that we call nowadays Great Repertory.
Their answer is very fast in our hands. All the nuances we think are translated into a sound very sensitive to speed and type of attack.
They are hand-made and handcrafted in three different core diameters (20, 25 and 30 mm) of solid wood. They are covered with German felt of very low density and of high quality. They are covered in different proportion of layers and final thickness in order to obtain a color palette as wide as possible for this kind of sound.
We start from three models according to their core diameter (models B), and that divide the working range of the mallets into three major segments: Hard, medium and soft.
Optionally, for those seeking to complete their sound, we offer the possibility of using harder models (model A) and softer (model C) that allow us to obtain a more specialized mallet. On request.
To sum up:
- 3 sizes of solid wood cores: 20, 25 and 30 mm. Models B.
- Bamboo shaft of high quality of 10/11 mm diameter and 38 cm. long.
- Translucent silicone counterweight in order to have better grip and control.
- Between 1 and 4 covering layers of felt, depending on the model.
- Models A and C of each size offer extended nuances of hardness by varying the amount of felt. On request.

Staccato sound: defined, light and bright. Perfect for excerpts of contained dynamics and of articulation present in all the notes; with much attack.
